Services offered by Grace of the Moon
FAM for contraception:
I teach 7 hour workshops, usually divided into 2 or 3 classes. In this time we cover the history of Natural Birth Control methods and their effectiveness. I share with you the reasons behind teaching the method that I do. We then briefly discuss the male and female reproductive anatomy and physiology. Quite a bit of time is spent on the female hormonal system. I feel it is imperative that one understands the basics of the hormonal dance before learning the method. From there we delve into the 3 primary signals of fertility that we will be following, cervical fluid, cervical changes and temperature. I share with you the rules of the method and how to chart. We look at practice charts and then discuss variations and exceptions to the norm. Depending on the needs of the class attendees, we might go various directions from here. I may offer a deeper look at hormonal imbalances and how to work with them. We often discuss nutrition options and I refer students to other practitioners when necessary. I suggest tools for conception when desired and how to practice the FAM while breastfeeding.
FAM is a life-long tool and requires an initial commitment to learning but once practiced is a simple and quick day to day act. I liken it to the daily commitment of brushing ones teeth. The cost of this class includes charts to start with and also a follow-up class which will be organized 3 months from the original class. The follow-up is for clients to come with their charts and ask questions that have arisen in the learning process. The suggested donation for a workshop is $94, or $124 for a couple. All clients are welcome and encouraged to attend any future follow-ups that I offer for other classes.
My FAM workshops are offered by request and advertised by word of mouth. I am open to traveling in order to teach. When classes are scheduled emails will be sent to those interested. Please feel free to email me if you would like to be added to my mailing list. Only class and follow-up info will be mailed.
FAM for conception purposes: The FAM education can be invaluable when trying to conceive. If you simply want to have more information about how your fertility works... a workshop could be very helpful. If you are actively desiring pregnancy and having trouble achieving it, a private consultation would be more appropriate. See below.
FAM outside Oregon: If you are in an area outside of southern Oregon and would like to have a class happen in your area- I welcome you to help with the organizing. If you enroll enough paying people for the class you can come for free.
FAM in southern Oregon: I teach several times a year in Ashland and usually at least once at Southern Oregon University, at a discounted student rate. Contact me for info on up-coming classes.
Private consultations for conception: During this meeting I will seek to meet you wherever you are in your process and offer education for increasing your chances of conception. I can share with you basic information on your fertility and teach you how to track your cycle and optimize your timing for conceiving. I can assist you in the self-diagnosis of any hormonal imbalance issues and recommend additional testing and studies to help you. I can also offer nutrition, lifestyle, emotional and herbal advice that will be helpful in boosting your fertility. There is a suggested donation of $50- $60 per hour for private consultations.
Private consultations for contraception: If you are just beginning the exploration of your fertility I highly recommend taking the workshop, for the complete education is extremely important for successful use of the method. If you are already practicing FAM or have specific needs on your path with the method which are not met during the free follow-up classes, you are welcome to make an appointment for a private consultation.
Private consultations for hormonal issues: I have quite a bit of experience dealing with specific women's health issues that might affect your fertility and can be seen in your charts. I have a lot of resources for working with such issues and am available for consultations to discuss such things and can also refer clients to other practitioners when the topics are beyond my area of expertise.
Workshops for young women: I look forward to working with teenage girls who are just coming into their fertile time. I am open to the creation of such classes, with emphasis on self-exploration rather than usage of the method for birth control. I would like to offer mother-daughter classes as well as classes just for girls. These workshops would be at a lower cost and would be shorter in time.
Availability: It is a high concern of mine to be available for follow-up for my clients. I believe the success of this method has a lot to do with the thoroughness of the education and the commitment of the women/couple practicing to have their questions answered when they arise. I am reachable by phone or email at most times (though occasionally I am away on personal retreat).
